Echoes of Tradition, Voices of Youth
This exhibition focuses on six young artists exploring the field of contemporary Chinese art, highlighting their deep connections with the traditional culture. Through their own creations, these artists inject fresh, youthful perspectives into the traditional Chinese culture, reinterpreting it with the aid of contemporary materials and technology.
The works of these young artists create a meaningful dialogue between tradition and the present. Through innovative means, they demonstrate a conscious return to the roots of Chinese culture, reinterpreting it in new ways. This is not merely a clash between tradition and modernity, but a continuation of cultural heritage grounded in the artists' personal life experiences. The exhibition invites viewers, through these works, to discover the diverse possibilities of Chinese culture.
About Us
We are one of the teams participating in the 4th edition of the "Bi-City Youth Cultural Leadership Programme."* With the core theme of "Breaking the Boundaries of West Kowloon," our project aims to create a global dialogue space for young artists by establishing a virtual exhibition platform. This initiative seeks to offer young artists from diverse cultural backgrounds greater exposure and opportunities for mutual understanding, while allowing audiences, through their exploration of the platform, to experience the multifaceted connections between the artists and the world. The current exhibition platform represents our initial experimental outcome based on this vision.
*The programme is organised by the Hong Kong Palace Museum and supported by Swire Properties as lead sponsor and Ednovators as programme partner. The programme aims to inspire creativity and understanding between youth from Hong Kong and Beijing, nurturing the next generation of cultural talent through artistic and cultural exchanges.
